Melissa obtained her BS from Illinois State University in 1994 and her MA in  Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1998. She has experience working with adults and couples in community mental health, private practice and residential programs. She has worked alongside her clients with  nearly 2 decades of experience in providing treatment for depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, hoarding, relationship problems and life challenges. She has special interest in working with older adults and coping with aging as well as health related issues.

She strives to create a compassionate, safe, non-judgmental space for her clients.  She meets clients where they are and works with them to move forward using  a solution focused approach.  Her goal is to empower clients to make changes in their lives at a pace that’s comfortable for them while learning to cope with the emotions they experience along the way.  She believes it is never too late to make changes and growth can occur at any time in a person’s life.
