Sarah Welch is a Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC, who also holds a Professional Educator license in the State of Illinois for Guidance Counseling. She earned her Master of Science degree in Counseling from National Louis University and Bachelor of Arts degree at Lewis University in Applied Sociology and Political Science.
Her treatment experience includes supporting clients recovering from addictions, supporting traditional and special-needs students in academic and alternative settings, and working in a correctional setting. Sarah has experience working with children (pre-k and older), adolescents, and adults, in individual and group therapy settings. Her clinical interests include adolescent challenges, women’s issues, sexuality and gender identity, self-esteem, depression, stress, trauma, and difficulty adjusting to life changes.
Sarah’s practice style is based on the humanistic approach, providing unconditional positive regard for clients, focusing on hope and humor to uplift them and support their personal goals and growth, while building resilience.
