Shawn W. Slagle, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Shawn received his Bachelors of Social Work from the University of St. Francis in 2003 and his Masters of Social Work from Aurora University in 2006.
In conjunction to his private practice work with Crossroads Counseling Services, LLC, Shawn is also employed by the Department of Veteran Affairs, providing mental health and substance treatment to the men and women who have courageously served our country.
Office Setting: Crossroads Counseling Services, LLC is located at 601 W. Norris Drive, Suite B, in Ottawa, IL. This location is handicap accessible.
Practice Hours: Appointment times currently are available Monday through Thursday evenings and on Saturday. Sessions generally are 50 minutes in length.
Practice Style: Populations served are adult, adolescent and children as individual, family or group sessions. Services focus on abuse / incest, depression, anxiety, phobias, schizophrenia, PTSD, head/brain injuries, bereavement and addiction treatments.
The First Session: The goal for the first session is to gather information, establish rapport, and make the decision to begin counseling a positive and productive one. Together, treatment goals are established and it is determined what issues are a priority. Length of treatment and frequency of sessions are discussed.
